Global Operations

As an intern at Marriott International’s Corporate Headquarters, I’ve been able to see the entire process of a project, from problem recognition and solution brainstorming all the way to the end product in hotels. I’ve never held an internship where I’ve seen a project I’ve touched manifest itself on such a global scale. This is an amazing opportunity where my ideas are welcomed, and everyone is here to help you learn!

Food & Beverage

I first started at Marriott as a Food & Beverage intern at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch. In those six months, I had so much fun learning about myself, the operation, and the industry, that I applied for Voyage when the program ended. I was offered a Voyage position in the food & beverage outlets at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn and am excited to continue growing through Marriott as a professional and an individual.

Human Resources

During my internship I had a lot of opportunities to learn and grow, which have allowed me to fulfill my role as HR Coordinator today. My favorite parts of my job include hosting employee birthday parties and participating in community service – I can do what I love to do even when I’m at work. At Marriott, we are a team; we support and trust each other. I still remember those first few days at work, when I knew nothing. Thanks to everyone's inclusion and help, I can continue to learn and grow.

Accounting & Finance

As an intern, I became part of the Marriott family. I learned a lot about the finance department as well as the Marriott brand. I realized that I would like to develop a career in this company. I am now working in the same hotel where I completed my internship. In this time, I’ve had the opportunity to work in two different positions, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and I’m looking forward to learning another area of the job soon!

Human Resources

I started my Marriott career almost two years ago as an intern in the Human Resources department. As an intern, I was given a lot of responsibility which offered me an in-depth learning about Human Resources and Marriott International. It also gave me the great opportunity to stay within the company as a Voyager. Now I am in the final phase of Voyage, the global leadership development program, which has given me more insight into different departments via the virtual hotel simulation and departmental rotations. I am proud to be a part of Marriott.

Food & Beverage

During my internship there seemed to be a new challenge everyday, but there was always someone willing to guide me. What I valued most was the trust my fellow associates placed in me. It went a long way in building confidence in my abilities. After seven months of training, I was hired into a new position, which has enabled me to use the service and technical skills I acquired during my internship. I have grown to appreciate the importance of hands-on training and have gained a better meaning of the word “experience” and its irreplaceable importance to the hospitality industry.
